On my end, this is basically what I do. Though I am not recommending to use third-party software. You could always check its background and information about the software before using it. If the link has a security that is not allowed to download the video, then nothing we can do about that even if we force it. I do suggest to send a request from the organizer to send the video file so that you can view it offline.
